Review :
The Good : This new AVC Soul III Player has finally launched and this is the most affordable solution for those who want to play their MP3 & Audio files through a portable CD player. Compared to both the previous version of AVC SOul I & II, and also some other various kind of products, this item is the cheapest one.
The Bad : As usually, the unit only comes with 110/120V power adapter. So if you're using 220V electricity, you will have to supply the adapter or buy a 110/220V power converter yourself. Compared to the AVC Soul II, this item has many degraded features and hardware performance. The 2 lines display is enough for displaying the ID3 text, but it's graphics is not as good as the 4 Line Full Graphic LCD display which comes with AVC 2.
The Bass Booster is not available, and the ESP Anti Shock Protection is far below the previous product (120 compared to 480 seconds for MP3 CD, 45 compared to 192 seconds for regular Audio CD), thus this will result in degraded audio performance during carried on travelling, and it isn't impossible that you will hear some skips in the middle of the song.
While on the AVC II product you will be given 2 pieces of 1600 mAh rechargeable batteries, this time they only give you 2 pieces of regular AA Alkaline batteries. But fortunately they still have the built-in battery charger inside the unit, so you can buy the rechargeable battery yourself and then use the built-in charger. However this unit didn't have an auto detect features on the batteries which is being used, so you have to manually switch between the Alkaline or Rechargeable battery option. If you're using Alkaline but switch the button to Rechargeable battery and then charge it, watch out that an explosion may happens.
Conclusion : AVC Soul Player III is the latest model in the digital music portable player industry. At below $70 price, it makes the AVC Soul Player III unit the cheapest among its competitor products. However I'm very disappointed with it's performance. It's better that you spend some more money on the 2 previous version of AVC Soul, unless you didn't really care about getting different audio quality that much.
